About Playalinda Beach
Playalinda Beach is the closest Atlantic beach to Orlando, about an hour east inside the southern district of Canaveral National Seashore. Thirteen numbered parking lots line a stretch of undeveloped shoreline directly north of Kennedy Space Center's Pads 39A and 39B, making it the premier public spot for watching rocket launches. The beach stays mostly wild — no boardwalks, no shops — and Lot 13 is the only federally recognized clothing-optional beach in Florida.
